FAQs

How far is the B&B from town?
We are less than 2.5 miles from the tip of the north and south points of the island- about 2 miles from the ferry. The whole island is under 5 miles long. We’re convenient to just about everything without being in the middle of the crowds and noise.
Do we need a car to get around?
No, you don’t need a car. In fact, taxis are readily available just 2 short blocks away at the taxi corner and inexpensive. We can also call for a taxi to pick you up at the front door. Golf carts are a fun safe way to tour the island for at least a day, and we can make arrangements for you. Biking and walking are also options especially right in the neighborhood. (Sorry, no Uber on Isla.)
Are your Villas handicapped accessible?
Our villa is a multi-leveled, Mexican built, island beach house that is not suitable for travelers with physical disabilities. Our villa is NOT handicapped accessible. Pets and children are not permitted.
How do I know my reservation is confirmed?
An email stating your deposit has been received will confirm your reservation. Payment in full is due 30 days before arrival.
What time is check-in/check-out?
Check in time is 2 PM and check out time is 11 AM. We are available for check ins between 11 AM and 8 PM unless agreed on otherwise in advance or due to flight delays.
Is purified water provided?
A water fixture dispensing purified water is available to guests in the dining area 24//7. A refillable, full water pitcher is in each guest room upon arrival and can be refilled as needed.
How do I pay my bar tab?
Bar tabs must be paid in cash and a 15% tip will be included. Thirty pesos will be added daily to your tab for housekeeping as well as any other incidentals. You are welcome to pay your bar tab in pesos or US dollars at a 17 to 1 exchange rate.
What's included in my room rate?
All rates are in US dollars for single or double adult occupancy. Personalized reservation information will have a 21% hotel tax included in the total. A complimentary breakfast served Villa La Bella style is included Tuesday through Sunday between 8:30- 10 AM. Complimentary breakfast includes coffee, tea, juice, local sweetbread, fresh seasonal fruit and a main dish. Monday is coffee only.
How many people can stay per room?
Each guest room accommodates a maximum of 2 adults. To maintain privacy for registered guests, unregistered guests are not permitted in the B&B private areas. Please plan to meet your visitors in the public bar areas between noon and 8 pm.
What is your cancellation policy?
Villa La Bella is a small boutique B&B and is significantly affected by cancellations. Unfortunately we find it necessary to adhere to a strict cancellation policy. We suggest you purchase trip insurance to protect your vacation investment.

Half payment is required to reserve your accommodations. The balance is due 30 days prior to arrival (60 days for holidays.) Cancellations via email (no phone calls) must reach us 45 days prior to arrival (75 days for holidays) for any refund of deposit, and a one-night’s stay per room is nonrefundable for securing your reservation. Our cancellation policy is non-negotiable, so please make sure you fully understand it before sending payment.
How can I get from the Airport to the B&B?
We highly recommend arranging transfers in advance online via CARM Tours & Transfers as it is an inexpensive, hassle-free way to get from the airport to the ferry as quickly and as smoothly as possible. You can even prepay your ferry tickets via CARM. Once on the island, you can grab a cab just to the left of the ferry dock. Porters are available at the dock to help with luggage.
Fees and Payment
Rates are subject to change without notice until deposit has been received. Payment in full is due for any one or two night reservation. Fees incurred for payments made via wire transfer, PayPal or any other payment method are the responsibility of the renter. We will let you know the amount of the fee, which will be due in cash on arrival.
Do you have quiet hours?
Please respect others in the house by upholding quiet hours from 11 PM to 8:30 AM. Talking in a normal voice is usually loud enough to wake other guests as many guests sleep with their windows open. The palapa suites are open air, so please respect guests’ desire to hear the ocean and not you. For these reasons and the fact that some guests are from different time zones, your cooperation is appreciated.
Do rooms have a safe?
Each guest room has a personal laptop sized safe. We encourage you to leave valuables at home. We are not responsible for the loss of any personal items.
Do you offer luggage assistance?
Our crew will gladly assist with your luggage to and from your room during regular business hours and a total of fifty pesos will be added to your tab.
Reservation termination
We reserve the right to terminate any reservation without any refund at any time of guests abusing other guests, the crew or the property. We are not liable for injuries incurred due to personal irresponsibility or acts of nature.
